It can also mean ‘smart arse’, which we think is perfect for us, as we try not to take ourselves too seriously.
2006 Martin and James met and connected over their Jewish heritage and a shared love of food, aeroplanes and of course Organisation Development (OD). With the support of Tony Fraser, who became our first Chair, they made plans to start what became Mayvin in 2010.
2012 Sarah Fraser joined initially as an Associate Consultant to support with our first charity client – Blue Cross. She soon realised there was no getting away and became a Director in 2014.
2017 Tony Nicholls joined, bringing expertise from the private sector, and (unfortunately for the rest of us) adding to the Mayvin plane geek society.
2020 Carolyn Norgate joined us on secondment from the Civil Service as maternity cover for Sarah, but she was too good so we had to keep her! Carolyn has in fact been part of the wider Mayvin family almost since day one, she first met James and Martin as our client, in the NHS, in early 2011.
2021 Sophie Tidman joined the crew, expanding the Principal Consultant team and increasing our uptake of yoga nidra and kombucha.
2024 Carolyn Parker and Ash Thomas are the newbies of the family but bring a wealth of experience from the private and 3rd sector including the NHS, British Heart Foundation and Stonewall.

One of our proudest achievements remains winning the contract to deliver OD programmes across the UK Civil Service In 2013. These are still running today with over 1,000 alumni/participants having graduated with MA level credits or qualifications.
In 2022, we realised a long-held ambition to launch a new Masters in People and Organisation Development, of which we are immensely proud.
We have a thriving community of clients, friends, alumni and academics, that have all contributed to what has become known as The Mayvin Way.
At Mayvin we love what we do and that's why our team are always looking to engage in thought leadership conversations in our field. In fact, members of the Mayvin family have written several books, including:
