BRIEF
The Organisational Development team at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital NHS Foundation Trust were looking for a partner to support them in raising their profile and impact of their work and their team within the organisation.
SOLUTION
Over 3 years we worked with the Organisational Development team meeting for one day every 6 weeks. We provided them with a flexible mix of practise supervising skills and knowledge, developmental team building and shadow consultancy.
We also worked alongside the OD team within Guys and St Thomas’ to co-deliver work for the organisation.
One of these projects – designing a ‘home ward’ to reduce the need for hospital attendances is now regarded as a leading innovation in NHS care in London.
OUTCOME
As a result of this work the team became clearer about its purpose and how it needed to work with the rest of the organisation to be of most use.
The team developed their Organisational Development skills and were able to make a more powerful diagnosis and a wider range of solutions to organisational challenges.
They became better known within the organisation and are now recognised as one of the leading Organisational Development teams within the NHS. They are appearing often on conference platforms and winning prizes for their work.
The latest development in our relationship with Guys is that we now work alongside them co-delivering work to other NHS organisations.
