Joanne Doherty

Joanne Doherty

Client Coordinator

Joanne is always learning, growing and striving. She is pro-active, dedicated and hard working. She is a strong advocate and communicator who loves working with brilliant people, doing meaningful work and helping them to flourish.

Joanne has degrees in International Development and Law, which she chose to study for the intellectual challenge, curiosity about how the world really works, and, ultimately, how to make a positive difference within it.

Joanne’s professional background is mostly in the third sector, and she has previously worked in a research organisation, a think tank and an international NGO. She loves working in Operations because, similar to the backstage of a great production, this is where all the magic happens.

Her professional experience to date encompasses many aspects of operations, including executive support for senior leaders, HR, recruitment, project management, policy work and research.

True to her third sector roots, Joanne is active in her community and has been a volunteer for many years. This has included volunteering as a mentor for the Girls’ Network, in various women’s rights organisations and as a facilitator for Victim Support.

Alongside her role at Mayvin, Joanne is also studying for a part time LLM in International Human Rights Law at the University of Sussex. She is also an elected postgraduate student representative on the University Senate for 2021/22 and 2022/23.

Joanne lives in Hove with her partner. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the cinema, cooking, sports, live music, reading and writing.
