Andrew is a culturally fluent leader who has coached one to one and facilitated leadership events globally. Originally from the UK, Andrew now lives in Tokyo with his wife Nobuko and their two children. They have also lived in Australia. This experience plus physically working with people and organisations in over 30 countries across Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa, gives Andrew a unique breadth and depth of knowledge, especially in the areas of leadership, working across cultures and building high performing and enjoyable places to work.
A truly global business person, Andrew has worked with a diverse group of companies including BP (global faculty member), Diageo (global coaching cohort member), Diageo Kirin Company (Japan), Mondelez (Kraft/ Cadbury), Barclays (global faculty member), Bank of America/Merrill Lynch (Asia Faculty Member), DLA Piper, Turner (Time Warner/ CNN), Reckitt Benckiser, enWorld, Japan Cricket Association, Smith and Nephews and Estee Lauder.
Andrew is an experienced and practical coach and facilitator who before creating his own business worked in the global FMCG industry for over 25 years with Diageo Plc. As a member of Diageo Australasia’s Leadership team, Andrew lead the HR function when the business was ranked 2nd in the Great Place to Work survey in 2010 and 4th place in 2009. As a member of Diageo Asia Leadership team, he lead the change from two distinct operations, run as independent markets, into one total business, with a new regional hub in Singapore. As the Sales Director in Diageo’s UK business Andrew lead and built a ‘new’ sales force of over 500 hundred people, with new ways of working following a merger with their closest competitor.
Andrew is also a published writer and an active member of the Japan HR Society. He co -created ‘Ask HR’ (an on line service for HR practitioners) and is a regular feature writer for their magazine (’the Agenda’) which is Japan’s first and only Bilingual HR Magazine for HR Professionals.
Andrew utilises his wisdom of over 25 years successful years in the global FMCG industry including, over 12 years Director level experience in both Human Resources and Commercial roles to help individuals fulfil their potential and achieve their dreams, and help organisations create great leaders and great places to work where individuals can flourish and succeed.
Having successfully, lived and worked in Japan, Australia and the UK and worked with people and organisations across Asia, Latin America and Africa, Andrew brings a unique breadth and depth of knowledge in the areas of building high performing businesses; organisation change; capability development, talent/leadership development and building employee engagement.
